Missouri rear-end car accident leads to injuries

Whenever a car is stopped in the roadway in order to make a turn, it can be a white-knuckle feeling for the stopped driver if other cars are coming up behind them. The majority of the time, cars slow then stop whenever they come upon a car waiting to turn with no issue. However, a recent Missouri car accident appears to have resulted from a car not stopping in time whenever someone was stopped in the roadway.

The accident occurred as a 54-year-old woman was stopped waiting to turn in her Ford Taurus. A 20-year-old driver came up behind her and collided with her car. The accident happened in the middle of the afternoon.

The woman in the Taurus was hurt and so were her two passengers, a 1-year-old and an infant. The driver of the second car and his passenger were also injured in the crash. His passenger was a 17-year-old man. All five people were wearing seatbelts and were taken to a medical facility for treatment for their injuries.

There is no report of charges set to be filed against the driver who rear-ended the Taurus. The injured parties in this car accident may all have expensive medical bills, possible missed wages or other damages as a result of the crash. The woman who was rear-ended may have cause to file a civil suit in a Missouri civil court against the man who hit her. If successful, she may be awarded monetary damages that could help her deal with any financial ramifications of the accident.
