Multi-vehicle car accident proves deadly in Missouri

Any kind of car accident can be distressing and disrupt the flow of traffic at a moment's notice. When there is a multi-vehicle car accident on the road, the aftermath can naturally be much more traumatic. Recently, a Missouri chain reaction car wreck caused a great deal of havoc and led to the death of one man. It also caused the shutdown of the roadway for some time.

The accident began as a Freightliner truck hit the back-end of a car. The car that was hit then hit another tractor-trailer. The original truck then hit another car. The original Freightliner then actually hit another Freightliner too. In all, there were three big rigs and four cars involved in the accident.

The first truck driver was seriously injured, and a passenger with him was also injured. The second car to be hit by the original Freightliner truck was driven by a 44-year-old man. He died at the scene, and an 11-year-old passenger in his car was injured. In total, seven people suffered injuries.

A car accident of this magnitude may be difficult to unravel. However,if the evidence suggests a cause, there may be cause for one or more civil suits in a Missouri court. A civil suit can be a successful tool for families and victims who have become financially burdened by being involved in a car accident. The damages a family could receive as the result of the death of a loved one can help with medical bills, funeral costs or even lost future income. Moreover, those suffering injuries are also entitled to turn to our court system to seek reimbursement for damages sustained as a result of the negligence of another party.
