Tragic Missouri car accident takes life of 2 girls

Whenever there is a chain reaction crash and injuries ensue, it can be difficult to figure out what exactly happened and who may be to blame. However, if there is a clear sign of negligent behavior or other fault to be found, the injured parties may be able to pursue a civil claim against those deemed responsible. A recent chain reaction car accident in Missouri is currently under investigation.

The accident occurred as a Dodge Ram truck changed lanes and then was struck by a Chevy in the back. The collision caused the truck to cross the road and hit a van head-on. This caused the van to leave the road and overturn.

Neither the driver of the truck nor the Chevy driver was injured. However, two girls in the van were killed at the scene of the crash. They were 16 and 20 years old. The 51-year-old van driver was injured, as were three others in that vehicle. Police have not yet released results of drug and alcohol tests for the two drivers who set off the chain of events that led to the two deaths.

An investigation may result in criminal charges, though none have been announced to date. Regardless of that investigation, the injured parties and family of the two deceased victims may have cause to file a Missouri civil suit to seek monetary damages. If successfully litigated, the family and the victims may be awarded damages that could help them deal with the financial ramifications of the car accident.
