Tractor-trailer causes 3-car accident in Missouri

Tractor-trailers are massive forces on the road. These trucks are large, and many drivers find them intimidating. Unfortunately, car accidents involving tractor-trailers are typically severe in nature due to the trucks' immense size and weight. This fact became all too clear for several people who were involved in a three-car accident in Missouri that occurred as a result of a swerving tractor-trailer.

According to reports, traffic on U.S. 63 had slowed going north as a result of a separate accident, and a number of cars were making an attempt to change lanes to avoid the collision. The driver of the tractor-trailer failed to notice traffic was slowing until the last minute, and she swerved, colliding with three other vehicles.

Missouri police have confirmed that seven injuries of varying degrees of severity were sustained in the car accident. Each of the victims was transported to University Hospital for treatment and observation. Police told reporters that a preliminary review of the victims showed no indication that any of the injuries were critical. However, some individuals who were in the most severely damaged cars became trapped inside and needed emergency assistance to be freed.

This incident is a clear example of what can happen when a truck driver fails to pay attention to the road. In accidents involving 18-wheelers, the truck is rarely damaged and truck drivers rarely injured. However, the drivers and passengers of the smaller vehicles often sustain serious injuries and require emergency treatment. If you have been involved in an accident with a tractor-trailer, it may be possible to obtain compensation for your injuries.
