Two killed in boating accident in Missouri

When we hear of accidents, we often think of car crashes on the highway. Recently, another type of crash took place that resulted in the death of two people. That crash involved three boats on the Osage River. Despite the fact that we do not often hear about them, recreational vehicle accidents are quite common.

The Missouri Highway Patrol's Water Patrol Division reported the crash happened when one boat, driven by a 33-year-old man, hit two other boats. First he hit a boat carrying a man from Tebbets. After traveling over the boat, he hit the third boat carrying three men and a woman. The Tebbets man and a man from the third boat, age 46, died in the crash. They were unable to be pronounced as officially deceased until their bodies were recovered from the water.

Of the three men and the woman in the second boat, two of the men reportedly suffered serious injuries and the woman suffered moderate injuries. The driver of the boat that started the crash suffered minor injuries. The cause of the boat accident is still unknown.

Recreational vehicle accidents often turn out to be fatal, as they offer people less protection from outside elements. This does not mean, however, that residents are exempt from possibly receiving compensation for their injuries if they are hurt in such an accident. The two men who tragically died in this instance are likely leaving behind grieving families. Those families my want to consider legal recourse that may help ease the pain.
