1 man, 2 children injured in Mokane crash

Many people in Columbia know the effects of a car accident. Some people are fortunate enough to walk away unscathed, but others are often not so lucky. In a recent car accident in Callaway County, three Missouri residents, including two children, were injured in a collision.

A 69-year-old man from Mokane was driving down Missouri 94 when he slowed to make a turn on onto County Road 458. Two children, ages 15 and 7, were passengers in the vehicle. As the Mokane man stopped and waited to turn, another car struck the vehicle from behind.

The 69-year-old driver and his two passengers were all injured in the rear-end collision. They were taken to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment. The 17-year-old driver of the second vehicle was not hurt in the accident. However, both vehicles were totaled in the crash. It is not clear if police are planning to file charges.

As this case shows, a serious car accident can change a person's life in an instant. The three accident victims who sustained injuries may now be facing expensive medical bills, and the driver has been left without a car.

In situations like this, if a driver is determined to have caused an accident, he or she could be held responsible. What this means is that those who were injured by the actions of that driver may be able to collect compensation to help pay for medical bills incurred. Missourians who are considering taking action against a driver may find the guidance and advice of an experienced personal injury attorney helpful.
