Missouri man killed in car accident while standing near vehicle

When details are initially released concerning a fatal car accident, it can be difficult for individuals to reach a conclusion as to what caused it. In some cases, very few details will have been released due to Missouri police still working the scene of the car accident. However, as police complete their investigative tasks, it is likely that more information will be disclosed that will shed some further light on the accident's circumstances.

Although police have stated that a man has died as a result of a two-car accident in Lewis County, very few other details have emerged surrounding the man's death. The man was reportedly standing outside of his vehicle on a Missouri road when he was hit by a passing vehicle. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, two other individuals also suffered injuries. The injuries have been classified as serious and moderate. The identifications of the injured individuals have not been released at this time.

Although police have stated that the car accident happened around 9:45 p.m., it is unclear where the victim was standing when he was struck or whether the area where the accident occurred was lit. These and other factors could go a longways toward explaining the cause of the accident. The victim's family retains the right to turn to Missouri courts to pursue a wrongful death claim if the evidence suggests that the fatality was caused by the negligence of another party. Similarly, those injured have recourse to personal injury claims, also based upon proof of negligence.
