Car accident in Missouri seriously injures 3, including driver

When a single-car accident occurs, it is not always clear what may have caused or contributed to it. Investigators must examine the evidence thoroughly in order to determine how the crash happened. Such a car accident occurred recently in Missouri, resulting in serious injuries to all three of the vehicle's occupants. If the authorities determine that a negligent or reckless act may have contributed to the car accident, the injured parties may wish to seek recourse under our state's personal injury laws.

The accident occurred around 7:15 p.m. in Montgomery County at the intersections of Highways J and N. According to reports, the 24-year-old driver ran off the road as he passed through the intersection, slamming his pickup truck into a bluff. The Missouri Highway Patrol responded to the incident, but they did not indicate what they think may have caused the crash.

None of the pickup truck's occupants were wearing seat belts. The driver and a 20-year-old passenger were transported to a local hospital by ambulance. A 17-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital by helicopter. The nature of their injuries was not reported, but were said to be severe.

As the victims focus on physically recovering from their injuries, they may have to deal with hospital bills and emotional distress related to the traumatic car accident. If the investigation shows that the driver acted negligently in the crash, that information could strengthen any personal injury claims brought against him in civil court. Anyone in Missouri who is injured in a collision may wish to examine their options for compensation. Any monetary assistance they receive from a successfully litigated claim can alleviate their financial worries, allowing them to concentrate on their physical and emotional well-being.
