Missouri multi-car and truck accident injures several

A multi vehicle accident ended with several injured during what would typically be considered rush hour on the highway. The Missouri roadway car and truck accident happened while one lane of the highway was closed, and it led to heavy traffic buildup afterwards along with the need for a clean-up crew. There is currently an investigation underway into the accident.

The crash happened as a 74-year-old driver reportedly slowed down in traffic. An SUV coming up behind him did not slow down in time and rear-ended the first car. This collision caused the first car to spin and then run into a semi-truck. The SUV also then hit a concrete barrier off of the road.

The 74-year-old man who was initially rear-ended by the SUV was transported for medical care for serious injuries. The 32-year-old SUV driver was also injured in the accident. There was no report of injuries to the semi-truck driver. Both injured drivers reportedly had seat belts on at the time of the crash.

It is unclear why the SUV was unable to slow down and avoid hitting the 74-year-old. As an investigation unfolds, the man who was seriously injured after being rear-ended may have cause to seek damages in a Missouri civil court. In Missouri, anyone hurt in a car or truck accident may be able to seek monetary damages that may help the injured party pay for expenses related to the car or truck accident, such as medical bills, lost wages or any other damages that may have occurred at the hands of the other driver involved.
