Missouri head-on car accident leaves several injured

When drivers are on the road, regardless of their own driving skills or ability to follow the rules of the road, they are truly at the mercy of other drivers. For a vehicle driving on a Missouri roadway recently, being in their own lane didn't prevent them from becoming embroiled in a car accident. The two cars involved hit virtually head-on shortly after 6 p.m.

A 26-year-old driver was heading north on the Missouri highway in a Ford Taurus. For an unknown reason, she crossed the center line of the lanes. A Dodge being driven by an 18-year-old was headed south and the two vehicles collided. The Taurus ended up in a ditch because of the impact.

The driver who crossed the center line was injured as were her two passengers. They were ages eight and five. The other driver and her passenger were injured also. They went to a medical facility for treatment. While the driver was said to have a minor injury, her passenger had what was deemed a moderate injury although the details were not known.

The two injured passengers in the car that was hit may need to miss work or they may end up with medical bills they did not expect. While there is no mention of criminal charges against the Missouri driver in this case, there may be cause for the other driver and injured passenger to file a civil suit in relation to the car accident. If they are successful in civil court, they may win damages that could help alleviate any financial strain the car accident may have caused them.
