Missouri car accident blamed on driver that lost control of car

Anytime someone is on the road driving, paying attention to the actions of drivers and vehicles around them is imperative. However, being aware can't prevent every kind of car accident from occurring on Missouri roadways. One recent car accident also proves that having a car parked is not even a fool proof way to avoid being involved in a crash.

Just after 2 a.m. on a Friday morning, a car was headed down a local roadway when it careened out of control. The car then hit an SUV. It then struck a parked vehicle.

A person inside the SUV that was hit was injured and needed to be taken to a medical facility for treatment. There is no report on the extent of the injuries to that person. Police are still trying to determine what happened and what led the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

If an investigation determines the out of control driver caused the car accident because of some kind of negligence or reckless act on their part, the man who was injured may be able to pursue civil action in a Missouri civil court. If successful in a civil court, those who are injured in a car accident can be awarded monetary damages. Those monetary damages can help victims contend with the financial ramifications of being involved in a car accident, such as lost wages while they recuperate or medical bills they have accrued as a result of their injuries. If the driver is charged criminally, any conviction obtained may be offered as evidence of liability in a related civil proceeding.
