High speed Missouri car accident leads to injuries

Any time there is a car accident that involves cars traveling at high rate of speed on the roadway or cars racing, the chances for injuries can be greatly increased for anyone nearby or involved. Recently in Missouri, a car accident that has been reportedly blamed on speeding has sent several people to the hospital with injuries. There is currently an investigation into the car accident to determine exactly what happened.

The accident took place at night. There were reports from witnesses who contend the vehicles involved were speeding down the road. When one of the speeding cars tried to pass another car, that vehicle went out of control. As it crashed, three people were ejected from the car.

Two of people ejected were reported to be in serious condition. The third person needed to be airlifted from the scene and was reported to be in critical condition. The ages of the people injured were not released.

If an investigation determines the vehicles were racing or one vehicle intentionally caused the other to leave the roadway, there may be cause to file criminal charges on or both drivers. Regardless of any criminal charges, if the preliminary evidence suggests that either driver was acting recklessly or negligently in a manner that caused or contributed to the collision and injuries that resulted, the injured victims may pursue a personal injury claim in a Missouri civil court. A successfully navigated civil claim against a reckless or negligent driver can yield monetary damages that may help victims deal with the financial ramifications of the car accident.
