Missouri car accident leads to a number of injuries

Anytime a car is on the road and loses control for just a second, anyone driving on that same road can be put at a higher risk of an accident. Whether that loss of control is purely accidental or due to reckless behavior or not, anyone nearby can suffer the consequences of unwittingly becoming the victim of a car accident. Recently in Missouri, one such accident where a vehicle lost control occurred and several people were injured in the process.

The accident occurred on a Friday night as a vehicle swerved on the roadway and crossed the center line. The vehicle reportedly swerved to avoid hitting a dog that was in the road. As it crossed the center line, the car hit another vehicle head-on.

The car that lost control and swerved had a driver and passenger inside, both 33-years-old. The car they hit was being driven by a 16-year-old male. He sustained serious injuries while the other two involved in the crash had what was described as moderate injuries. The exact nature of their injuries were not reported.

While there is no word yet of any potential charges that could be filed against the driver, the person who swerved and caused the car accident may be held accountable in a civil court. In Missouri, the victims of car accidents caused by the recklessness or negligence of another person may be able to seek damages. Those damages may help injured victims pay for medical bills or cover lost wages due to being injured in the accident.
