Truck accident in Missouri involves 7 vehicles, injuries

Anytime there is an accident involving more than two vehicles, it can be difficult to determine what happened or who may be at fault. Whenever there is a truck involved, the injuries can be compounded by the sheer weight and size of the vehicles. A Missouri truck accident recently occurred, and a total of seven vehicles were involved.

The accident appears to have been the result of a chain reaction crash that occurred as traffic was slowing down because of another accident. According to witness reports, a car driver increased the vehicle's speed, which somehow led to two tractor trailers swerving to avoid colliding. One semi-truck struck another car in the multi-vehicle crash.

One man, a 44-year-old, was in a Corvette and died in the accident. He had an 11-year-old passenger in the vehicle with him. One woman who was driving one of the tractor trailers was injured in the crash also. The crash caused a traffic backup that stretched for 7 miles. Responders needed to remain on the scene for several hours.

It is unclear which vehicle struck the Corvette, leading to the driver's fatal injuries. It is also unclear if anyone will face criminal charges for their role in the crash. However, if the family of the man who died in this truck accident believes one party acted negligently, they may have cause to file a wrongful death lawsuit in a Missouri civil court. A civil suit can result in damages being awarded if negligence is established, and any financial award that results could help alleviate any financial strain the accident may have caused for the family left behind.
