2 vehicle car accident in Missouri injures several

Whenever cars are traveling in close proximity or toward each other, the possibility of an accident may increase, compared to when no one else is one the road. Anytime someone is a passenger in a vehicle, they are essentially putting their lives in the hands of the driver and every other driver near them on the roadway. Recently in Missouri, a car accident occurred that left several people injured, including passengers.

The accident happened when one vehicle crossed the road and hit another. The car that crossed the road was operated by a 22-year-old man. He had three passengers in his vehicle. The car he hit was driven by a 49-year-old woman. She was alone in her vehicle.

The driver of the first car and a 19-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries. The other two passengers sustained moderate and minor injuries. They were 22 years old and 20 years old. The driver of the car that was hit escaped with no reported injuries. According to a police report, the man's vehicle was going too fast for road conditions, although authorities have not yet mentioned the possibility of criminal charges.

Regardless of whether the driver faces criminal charges related to this car accident, the passengers who were injured have rights and could initiate a civil lawsuit if they elect to pursue that option. They may have incurred costly medical bills, lost wages and may have to contend with expensive therapies or further medical care down the road. If successful in the pursuit of a personal injury complaint in a Missouri civil court, they may garner an award of financial relief that could help deal with the inevitable ramifications of such an accident.
