Head-on truck accident in Missouri injures baby

Driving along the highway when there are tractor trailers anywhere nearby can be intimidating. The danger level also increases when trucks are on the road with smaller cars. A recent truck accident in Missouri highlighted those dangers when a child was seriously injured.

The incident occurred in the middle of the afternoon as a tractor-trailer was going west on the highway. The truck crossed the center line and went right into the path of a car that was heading east. A head-on collision between the two was the result of the maneuver.

A 27-year-old woman was driving the car. She suffered moderate injuries in the crash. However, she had a baby in the backseat, and the child was reported to have been seriously injured. The pair was transported to a nearby medical facility, but then the baby needed to go to another facility and was then said to be in critical condition. The truck driver also suffered minor injuries as a result of the head-on crash.

A truck accident that leaves a child critically injured may be investigated as authorities try to pursue a reason for the incident. The family of the injured child may be able to pursue civil action in a Missouri civil court if there is negligence or carelessness found on the part of the truck driver. Civil action against the truck driver or the trucking company can yield a monetary settlement that may be necessary for the family so they can deal with mounting medical bills or other expenses related to the crash.
