Multi-vehicle car accident in Missouri takes life

Whenever there are multiple vehicles involved in any kind of car accident on the highway, the end result can be disastrous for those involved and the families they may leave behind. A multi-vehicle car accident can also increase the likelihood of a fatality for anyone involved. A recent car accident on a Missouri highway proved to be deadly for one of the victims and left another seriously injured.

The crash happened in the middle of the afternoon. A Jeep Cherokee had sideswiped a pickup truck that was traveling in the northbound lane. That Jeep then hit a Dodge pickup truck head-on as the Dodge was headed south on the highway.

The driver of the Jeep was a 30-year-old woman. She needed to be airlifted from the scene to a medical facility. The driver of the Dodge pickup truck that was hit head-on was killed at the scene. He was 48 years old. The person in the pickup truck that was sideswiped was not injured in the car accident.

It may be more difficult to figure out what exactly happened and who may be culpable when there is a multi-vehicle car accident. However, in Missouri and elsewhere, if an investigation reveals evidence that a driver was culpable as they hit another head-on after sideswiping another vehicle, there may legal recourse for any victim who was hurt or the family of any victim who was killed. A family who lost a loved one in a car accident such as this may be able to pursue damages through a civil complaint, based upon evidence that the negligent acts of another caused or materially contributed to the accident and injuries or death that resulted.
