Missouri woman injured in truck accident

Cars and trucks can be unpredictable, and things can go wrong at the worst possible moment. Breakdowns or other issues can happen virtually anywhere and anytime. When someone is driving and the car becomes disabled, it can be difficult or nearly impossible to get the car off the road and away from the line of traffic. One Missouri woman was injured in a truck accident as she was tending to her disabled car.

The woman was on the road around 9 p.m. Her car became disabled, yet it is unclear exactly what happened to her car. She got out of the car and walked to the front of the vehicle. As she stood there, a semi-truck came along and hit the back end of her vehicle.

The impact caused the car to push into the woman. The woman suffered serious injuries as a result. She was transported to a hospital for treatment. Investigators were called the scene of the accident to conduct a reconstruction of what happened.

The truck accident victim in this case may have a long road to recovery, depending on the severity of the injuries she suffered. In cases where someone is seriously injured by an oncoming truck that hits his or her vehicle on a Missouri roadway, there may be cause for the victim to pursue civil action against a truck driver and/or trucking company. A civil complaint for damages and injuries, if successful in establishing negligence, may help the victim garner monetary damages that could help with medical bills or other expenses related to the car accident.
