Missouri car accident injures 2 people

Cars coming toward each other on the road need to be extra-vigilant when it comes to safety and staying in the lanes of traffic. Anytime a car crosses into another lane, there is an increased risk of a car accident. This kind of action is being cited as a reason for a recent Missouri car accident that left two drivers injured.

The accident occurred in the morning as two cars came upon each other on the roadway. A 16-year-old driver was headed westbound. For some reason, he crossed the center lane of the road. He then collided head-on with a vehicle being driven by a 29-year-old man.

The 16-year-old became trapped inside his vehicle, and it took a great deal of effort to free him from his vehicle and several agencies needed to work the scene of the crash. He was airlifted from the scene for medical treatment. The other driver needed to be transported by ambulance to receive treatment for injuries he sustained.

While it is unclear if the driver who caused the car accident by crossing the center line may face any kind of charges or citations related to the crash, the victim may still have cause to file civil action against that driver. In a civil case in Missouri, a driver who causes a car accident may have to pay damages to victims who are injured. The awarding of damages can help family members or victims deal with medical bills, lost wages or other expenses accrued as a result of being hit by a negligent driver.
