Missouri car accident injuries woman as she turns

Whenever motor vehicles need to slow down to turn into driveways or onto other roadways, the drivers may be vulnerable to the vehicle traffic around them, both coming and going. During these times, or during turns at intersections, a car accident can all too easily occur if the motorists are not paying careful attention. A recent car accident in Missouri occurred when a woman was trying to turn into a driveway.

The 63-year-old was driving a Chevy truck as she approached a private driveway. She was in the midst of trying to turn into that driveway when the collision took place. A 24-year-old man was driving a pickup truck, which collided with the woman's vehicle. His pickup then ran into a utility pole and a communications pedestal.

The woman was transported to an area hospital by ambulance. Her injuries were reported to be moderate. There was no word as to whether the other driver was injured. There was also no word yet as to who may be held accountable for the accident.

An investigation may pinpoint an exact cause for the car accident and assign culpability to one party over another. In this case, the man who hit the woman turning into her driveway may face claims for financial liability for the injuries she suffered. If an injured party, such as this car accident victim, was to pursue a case in a Missouri civil court, a successfully presented claim may garner monetary damages that could help pay for medical bills or other losses related to the accident and the injuries that resulted.
