Missouri car accident takes 1 life, injures 3

Whenever cars are coming toward each other on the road, there may be a feeling of apprehension, as an accident can occur if one driver isn’t following the rules of the road. A head-on collision between two cars can be particularly devastating to the people driving and any passengers they may have with them. One recent car accident in Missouri appears to have occurred because one driver crossed the center line while approaching an oncoming car.

The accident happened in the morning on a Saturday. A 59-year-old was driving a Ford Taurus and crossed the center for an unknown reason. As the car did so, it hit an Elantra and caused the Elantra to flip over.

The 27-year-old driver of the Elantra needed to be airlifted from the scene for medical treatment. She was said to be in serious condition but died later from her injuries. A 41-year-old man and a 7-year-old girl were also in the car. They were transported by ambulance for treatment. The 59-year-old also needed medical treatment for minor injuries as a result of the crash.

Whenever a car accident occurs because a driver left his or her lane and crossed over into oncoming traffic, anyone who was injured as a result of that occurrence may be able to pursue legal action. A civil claim in a case such as this one in Missouri can help victims and victims’ families garner a monetary settlement. Any monetary settlement awarded in a civil court may help families and victims pay for damages, medical treatments and funeral expenses.
