Truck accident turns fatal, leads to chain reaction crash

There are always trucks on the road. Truck drivers are highly trained, and many car drivers are adept at driving alongside or sharing the road with large trucks. However, when a truck accident occurs, the sheer size and weight of the truck may mean the results are much more devastating compared to when cars collide or crash. A recent truck accident in Missouri turned deadly as the truck went into another lane.

The wreck occurred on a Wednesday afternoon on a Missouri Interstate. The truck was travelling eastbound and crossed over into the westbound lane. It then hit a car, and the car was cut in half as a result of the impact.

The driver in the car died as a result of the accident. That initial crash led to a chain reaction accident along the roadway. Eight cars and three semi-trucks were all involved in the chain reaction crash. This led to injuries for eight other people. The road also needed to be closed as the accident was dealt with.

When a truck accident takes the life of a loved one, surviving family members may be able to pursue legal action in a Missouri civil court. A wrongful death civil lawsuit can result in an award of damages to those left behind in the negligence of another party is established in court. Any money received may help family members of a truck crash victim deal with the financial ramifications of the truck accident, such as medical bills, lost wages and other allowable damages under our laws.
