Multi-vehicle car accident kills two in Missouri

Multi-vehicle car accidents that involve tractor-trailers on the roadway can be a recipe for disaster as the number and size of vehicles will play a role in the types of injuries that may occur. One recent car accident in Missouri involved multiple vehicles and also involved a tractor-trailer. This chain reaction crash resulted in injuries and, unfortunately, two deaths.

The situation unfolded on a Wednesday afternoon around 3 p.m. There was a small passenger vehicle near an intersection stop light. According to one report, a tractor-trailer came up and collided with the rear end of that small car. This action led to a chain-reaction crash that involved over 6 vehicles total, one of which was another tractor-trailer.

Two of the vehicles caught on fire at some point during the chaos. A total of four people were injured and needed medical attention. In addition, the two occupants of the original car to be hit by the tractor-trailer were killed at the time of impact. One of the deceased victims was 50 years old and the other was 27 years old.

With the help of an investigation and eye witness reports, authorities may be able to pinpoint an exact cause of the car accident. If the driver of the tractor-trailer is found to be negligent or to have acted recklessly, the families of the two people killed in the car accident may have legal recourse to seek damages in a civil court. A civil wrongful death case in Missouri can be one option for families who may need to rely on monetary damages to deal with mounting medical bills, lost wages or other expenses related to the car accident.
