Wet roads may have caused car accident in Missouri

A head-on collision can cause extensive damages and lead to injuries regardless of the circumstances. One recent car accident in Missouri led to injuries for multiple people involved. The 18-year-old driver of the vehicle reported to have caused the wreck may have lost control due to wet road conditions.

The accident happened just before noon in St. Francois County. The 18-year-old male was operating a Dodge Dakota. When he lost control, the front right end of his pickup truck hit the front of a Chrysler van.

The van that was hit was being operated by a 49-year-old man who was seriously injured in the head-on collision. His passenger, a 43-year-old woman, was also seriously injured. They were transported to different medical facilities. Another passenger in the van, an 18-year-old, also needed medical attention and transport for moderate injuries suffered in the collision. The driver who caused the crash was treated for minor injuries, and both vehicles were said to have been totaled in the crash.

The 18-year-old driver may be held accountable for losing control of his vehicle and causing the collision. The occupants of the van that was hit in this car accident may be able to pursue damages against the driver of the Dodge if negligence is proved and they choose to do so. In a Missouri civil court, they may be able to successfully fight for monetary damages that could be of great help as they face medical bills, lost wages or other financial losses related to the accident.
