University of Missouri athletes involved in car accident

For obvious reasons, intersections are potentially dangerous places. A recent accident at an intersection in Missouri involved a collision between two vehicles, resulting in injuries. The car accident has made news as four University of Missouri football players were involved in the crash as they made their way through a green light.

The accident happened in the afternoon as the car filled with football players was headed south. A northbound car was at a blinking light and made a left-hand turn. The cars collided as the football players vehicle had a green light through the intersection. Their car then struck a pedestrian crossing signal as well.

The turning car was occupied by a woman and two children. Those individuals were transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries. Of the four football players, two were treated at the scene of the car accident and the other two were transported to an area hospital. Police apparently do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the car accident.

Once an investigation further specifies the cause of the crash, the injured parties may be able to pursue a personal injury claim in a Missouri civil court. A personal injury claim can be vital tool for those who are involved in a car accident and end up needing expensive medical care and ongoing treatment. A successful claim can result in an award of monetary damages that addresses those needs along with any other financial burdens created as a result of being a car accident victim.
