Missouri car accident results in injuries to many

A car accident involving two vehicles can easily lead to injuries and damage. However, when a car accident involves more than two vehicles, the number of those injured can escalate and create a scene of havoc. One recent Missouri car accident involved three vehicles and ended with seven people suffering injuries in the aftermath.

The accident occurred on a highway as a car and truck collided. The exact circumstances under which the two vehicles collided were not immediately reported. After the two vehicles collided, a mini-van came upon the scene and tried to avoid the wreck by swerving. This maneuver led the mini-van to end up in a creek.

In total, seven people had to be cut out from inside the wrecked vehicles. Two of those people needed to be taken to a medical facility via air. The other five were transported to an area hospital by ambulance. It was unclear exactly what type of injuries were suffered and what the severity of those injuries may have been.

After an investigation of this car accident, Missouri police and other authorities may have a clearer understanding of any culpability on the part of one or more of the drivers involved. Once some level of culpability is established, the injured parties who sustained those injuries due to the recklessness or negligence of another may be able to pursue a civil claim against the responsible party. If successful, those injured parties may be awarded a monetary settlement that could prove beneficial as those injured individuals deal with medical bills, on-going or rehabilitative treatment and lost wages.
