Fatal car accident in Missouri takes life of three

When vehicles collide, the potential for damages and injuries exists. It increases when a head-on car accident occurs. One recent crash on a Missouri roadway proved to be deadly. In all, three people lost their lives.

The tragic car accident occurred around 6:20 p.m. on the highway. One of the vehicles involved in this crash was trying to pass another car. A a consequence, one of the vehicles hitting another car head-on.

A passenger from each car was transported to a local medical facility for treatment of injuries. The drivers of the cars that collided both lost their lives. One was 80 years old, and the other driver was 20 years old. Adding to the tragedy, an infant died in the car accident. The highway was closed down as authorities investigated the accident, which is said to be ongoing.

From the preliminary evidence gathered, it appears the the elderly driver's estate may bear legal responsibility for the tragic car accident. If a full investigation confirms that initial assessment, grounds may exist for wrongful death and personal injury claims against his estate. If the car he was driving was owned, in whole or in part, by someone else, they could be added as a defendant in any litigation arising from the head-on crash. In any event, a Missouri civil court will require proof of liability before it will consider claims for specific items of monetary damages. Once liability is established by appropriate evidence, documented financial losses of the plaintiff(s) will be adjudicated.
