Injuries and fatality caused by car accident in Missouri

When a car is rear-ended while stopped on the road, the after-effects can be devastating. The force of the collision can easily lead to injuries and fatalities in certain cases. A recent car accident in Missouri resulted in both injuries and fatalities as a stopped SUV was rear-ended by another vehicle.

The SUV was headed east on the roadway late on a Saturday night. The SUV was stopped in the roadway for reasons yet to be reported. The SUV was then struck from behind by another vehicle.

The 19-year-old driver of the SUV was transported to a hospital for medical attention for injuries that were said to be serious. Two 18-year-old passengers in the SUV were also taken for medical attention for moderate injuries. Two other passengers suffered fatal injuries. One was 18 years old and the other fatally injured passenger was 19. The person in the vehicle that struck the SUV was not injured in the accident.

The victims of this car accident and the families of the two passengers who lost their lives may incur medical bills and other expenses related to involvement in the crash. Those victims and the families of the deceased passengers may want to be aware of options that may be worth pursuing in a Missouri civil court. If negligence is established, personal injury suits from the injured parties and wrongful death suits filed by the families of the two deceased passengers may yield monetary damages which could prove beneficial as those victims and families face unexpected financial ramifications from the car accident.
