Missouri car accident takes lives of teens, injures others

When a car is stopped in the roadway for any reason, it is a vulnerable position to be in. Yet, drivers in Missouri roadways should be aware of any cars that are stopped or slowed ahead of them to avoid any kind of rear-end collision. When a rear-end collision occurs, the injuries can be devastating. One recent car accident in Missouri occurred as a car was stopped in the road and an up-coming vehicle collided with it.

The accident happened on a Saturday night. The stopped car was being driven by a 19-year-old man. A car came up behind and hit that vehicle. It was not known why the first vehicle had stopped in the road.

The driver of the car that was hit was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries. Another passenger was also taken to a hospital for injuries that were reported to be moderate. Unfortunately, two other teens in the car died as a result of the impact. Those teens were 18 and 19 years old. The driver of the car that hit them did not need to be transported for treatment of any injuries.

An investigation of this car accident should lead to a conclusion about liability and whether or not the second driver will face any charges or citations for hitting the stopped car. Despite any charges or citations, the families of the two victims who lost their lives may have cause to file a wrongful death suit against the driver who hit the car. Additionally, the other two people who were injured on the Missouri roadway may have cause to pursue a personal injury claim. Both pursuits may lead to the awarding of damages that could help the victims and their families deal with medical bills, lost wages and other monetary losses relevant to the car accident.
