2-vehicle car accident in Missouri leaves man injured

A teenage driver in a pickup truck is reportedly responsible for a car accident that left another person injured, according to a local news report. The car accident occurred on a Missouri roadway at an intersection. The injured man was reported to be 61 years old.

Early on a Monday morning, the older man was driving a Volvo southbound. A pickup truck was headed north when it came up to a stop sign. The pickup driver then turn left, directly into the path of the car. The two vehicles collided.

The 17-year-old girl driving the pickup truck was not injured. However, the other driver needed to be transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries that were reported to be moderate in nature. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.

The injuries suffered by the man will surely result in medical bills and may even require ongoing treatment. Injuries suffered in a car accident such as this can also mean an injured victim needs to take time off work or, worse yet, is unable to return to work for some time, if ever. Because of the financial losses sustained by some victims due to the recklessness or negligence of another party, Missouri Car accident victims are typically entitled to pursue personal injury claims in a civil court. If successful, a personal injury claim can lead to an award of monetary damages which could alleviate the financial strain caused by the car accident and the ensuing injuries suffered.
