Missouri car accident takes life of young pedestrian

An SUV leaving an elementary school caused a devastating accident in Missouri recently. The SUV struck a young child pedestrian who was crossing the street. The 7-year-old little girl lost her life in this car accident.

The accident happened on a Saturday night. The SUV was turning left out of the parking lot when the child was hit. The little girl was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of injuries but later died from the injuries she sustained.

The driver who hit the child stayed at the scene of the accident to assist authorities who were there to ascertain what happened. There was also a plan to have counselors on hand to help students and staff who would be affected by the loss. There was no word on whether or not the SUV driver would face any kind of charges or traffic citations related to the accident.

An investigation into this car accident involving a pedestrian will most likely pinpoint any level of culpability or determine if negligence on the part of the driver was at play. When a car accident such as this takes the life of a victim, the family left behind may have several options if they so wish to pursue those options. One option is a wrongful death suit filed in a Missouri civil court. If successful, a wrongful death suit can lead to the awarding of monetary damages that could help a family deal with the financial ramifications of losing a loved in such an unexpected and tragic manner.
