Wrong-way car accident causes death of 1 in Missouri

Having a car headed in the wrong direction may be a driver's worst nightmare as it may be difficult to avoid a collision when a car is traveling the wrong way. One recent car accident on a Missouri roadway occurred when a car crossed the center line and caused the wrong way car accident. This accident took the life of one of the drivers.

The accident happened on Saturday night along a parkway. A 47-year-old woman was driving around 10:30 p.m. when her vehicle crossed the center line. A Toyota was headed in the opposite direction. That Toyota was driven by a 48-year-old man. The woman's car hit the Toyota head-on.

The 48-year-old man behind the wheel of the Toyota died at the scene of the crash. The woman was transported to a nearby hospital for injuries she sustained. Her injuries were reported to be moderate. The state highway patrol is currently investigating this car accident.

Once an investigation is complete, the family of the man who died in this car accident could have legal options that may be worth pursuing after they deal with the initial shock and emotional devastation of losing a loved one in such a sudden manner. One option may be to pursue a wrongful death suit against the driver who is presumed to have caused the car accident. A wrongful death suit filed in a Missouri civil court can help families deal with the financial aftermath of a deadly accident, such as the medical bills they may be left with or the overwhelming funeral costs.
