Motorcyclist hospitalized after car accident in Missouri

The collision between a car and a motorcyclist has sent that motorcyclist to the hospital for treatment of injuries. The motorcycle versus car accident happened on a Wednesday night. Missouri State Patrol responded to the scene to assess the situation as there was one injury.

According to reports of the accident, a 64-year-old man was riding a motorcycle southbound. At the same time, a Nissan 350Z was also travelling south. The collision occurred as the Nissan was turning left into a driveway. The motorcycle struck the side of the car.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike. The 64-year-old was then transported to an area hospital for what was reported to be moderate injuries. The car driver was an 18-year-old man, and he was not injured in the accident. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

A car accident such this that results in a motorcyclist being thrown from a bike can lead to devastating injuries that can impact a motorcyclist for a long time to come. The motorcyclist in this particular accident may have mounting medical bills, need on-going treatment or therapies, or he may suffer from lost wages while he recovers. Missouri car drivers or motorcyclists injured in a similar accident may be able to pursue damages in a Missouri civil court. If successful, those injured parties may be awarded monetary damages that alleviate the burden of the financial aftermath of being injured in a motorcycle or car accident that was not their fault.
